A bitterly disappointed Lockwood Brass came away with the lowest finish at a contest since forming nearly four years ago. Alan Fernie's Gothic Dances formed the test for the sixteen bands competing to become the National Second Section Champions. As well as composing this years test piece, Alan was also present in the box along with Graham O'Conner.
The band put in a very good performance and left the stage very confident of a good placing. Some predictions before the results were announced even had placed Lockwood first! Unfortunately though the adjudicators didn't agree, placing the band eleventh.
